Podiatric Medicine & Surgery

Dr. Derek Pawich grew up in southwest Florida but enjoys working and living in vibrant south Florida. He earned his Bachelors in Health Science from the University of Florida in Gainesville and then attended the Creighton University Heider College of Business in Omaha, NE, where he earned a Masters in Bioscience Management and a Masters of Business Administration (MBA). Following graduate school, he attended the Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine in Philadelphia, PA.

After earning his doctorate degree in 2016, Dr. Pawich remained in Philadelphia and completed a three-year foot and ankle surgical residency at Roxborough Memorial Hospital. He benefited from being in a surgically-focused program with an emphasis on forefoot and rearfoot surgery in addition to wound care and limb salvage. Due to his residency being associated with five hospitals within the Philadelphia metropolitan area, Dr. Pawich had the opportunity to work with a vast group of foot and ankle surgeons doing a wide variety of surgical procedures. In addition, his residency included weekly academic meetings that promoted and accelerated learning on the latest advancements in surgical and medical practices.

Prior to joining LA Medical in August 2023, Dr. Pawich worked primarily with the underserved communities of Broward County where he provided both hospital and office-based care. As a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association (APMA) and the Florida Podiatric Medical Association (FPMA), he stays current with the latest research and trends. Dr. Pawich is board qualified in foot and ankle surgery by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery (ABFAS) and board certified by the American Board of Podiatric Medicine (ABPM). When not providing patient care, Dr. Pawich enjoys spending time with his family, including his wife Jordan, new baby girl Ashton and dog Watson. He also enjoys outdoor activities such as wakeboarding, kayaking, paddleboarding in addition to running and watching Gator football.
